Step outside and pick what you need — seasonal herbs, salad leaves and veg grown right outside the front door. It’s a small detail that makes your stay feel genuinely special.
The Snug has been designed and hand-crafted by us. From the decking area you enter through double patio doors. In the main living space is a settee/sofa bed, kitchen with all the amenities for cooking, under counter cupboard space and small fridge, together with kettle, toaster and microwave for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. With lovely local pubs/cafes and tasty takeaways there are plenty of places to sample local food - if you fancy a cooked breakfast or a quick meal we have a single portable induction hob & microwave in the kitchen area.
In the dining room area there is a DAB/bluetooth radio. There is no television at the Snug. We are trying to create a serene environment for people to come and relax, however you will be able to pick up 4g to link to your phone so you can watch TV/films etc.
At one end of the cabin is a double size raised captain style bed which you need to step up into. There is an electric mattress blanket to keep you cosy if you are chilly. There is also storage facilities underneath the bed.
Through the sliding door there is a bathroom area comprising of an enclosed shower, toilet and wash hand basin. There is a water heater in the bathroom area which will be set prior to your stay so that you will have sufficient hot water for all your needs.
We recycle pretty much everything and have provided food caddy's for and cooked food. There is also a recycling box for packaging in the kitchen area. Please use these and we will organise this after your stay.
There will be a blanket provided if you are bringing your dog but please bring your own dogs bedding as this is what they are used to. We ask that you don't leave your dog in the cabin on their own and that they are with you when you go out. This is because our experience is that some dogs get anxious being left in an unfamiliar environment.
We also have an outdoor shower you can use to wash wetsuits/swimming gear. These can be hung in the polytunnel to dry.
Outside we have a wooden bench and table where you can chill over breakfast or in the evening hours with a glass of wine listening to nature.
Dogs are very welcome at The Snug. We know they’re part of the family, so we’ve made sure they’ll love it here too.
There are dog-friendly walks from the door, nearby beaches where dogs can run free, and a safe outdoor space to potter around.
A thoughtfully equipped cabin for slow mornings, cosy nights, and easy outdoor living.
We are positioned on the Atlantic coast 5 minutes from St Just and 12 miles from St Ives along the coast road. The south west coast path is 10 minutes walk away. We are surround by the moors behind the Snug and you can easily join the Tinners Way The Tinners Way is an ancient 18 mile (29Km) trail from St Ives to Cape Cornwall in St Just. The walk takes in everything that is quintessentially West Penwith, starting on the rugged north coast and heading inland across high moor which has traces of human settlement dating back to prehistoric times. Along the way there are in the region of 20 ancient sites including stone circles, quoits and menhirs. The nearest convenience store is the Spar, which is in Pendeen, 1 mile away, or the Coop and Premier in St Just 1.5 miles away. Both accessible on foot, bike, car or bus. We are surrounded by National Trust gardens within easy reach either bus bus or car. The bus stop is 2 minutes from the house.
